What contest credit is

Contest credit is promotional balance on a contest platform. It can be used to pay entry fees, just like cash in your account, but it cannot be withdrawn to a bank, and it usually expires. It is how operators give new and returning players something to play with without handing over money they could take straight back out. The distinction that matters is between credit and winnings: credit is what an operator gives you to enter, winnings are what you earn by finishing well, and the two are treated differently.

An example

A hypothetical player has $30 of cash in their account and $15 of promotional credit. They enter a contest, and the credit goes toward the entry fee. They finish in the money and win a prize. The prize lands as cash, which they can withdraw. The credit they used is gone, and any credit left over stays credit: usable for entries, never withdrawable, and gone once it expires.

In Speed Survivor

On Speed Survivor, both promotions that come with code SPEED pay contest credit. The deposit match gives $10 instantly on your first deposit, then a 100% match up to $100, released at $1 for every $10 in entry fees. Referral credit is up to $500 a season, released on the referred player's first paid entry of $10 or more, subject to a seasonal cap. Either way the rule is the same: contest credit is for entries only, cannot be withdrawn, and expires at the end of the 2026 NFL regular season.
