What a free contest is

A free contest is a Speed Survivor contest with a $0 entry fee. It is played exactly like a paid one: the same live questions during the same game, the same scoring for being right and being fast, the same cuts and the same leaderboard. The only difference is that nothing is paid to enter.

Free contests are available weekly. They appear in the app's contest list alongside paid contests, marked with a $0 entry. No purchase or payment is necessary to enter, to build a run, or to win.

An example

Someone new to the game downloads the app on a Sunday, signs up and sees a $0 board in the contest list next to the paid ones. They enter it, answer the twelve questions as the game plays out, and learn how quickly the answer window closes and how the cuts thin the field, all without spending anything. The following week they know what they are doing before deciding whether a paid contest is for them.

That is what free contests are for: the full game, at no cost, for anyone who wants to play it.

In Speed Survivor

Answers in free contests count for that contest's points and placement. They do not count toward a Perfect 36 run, which is built only from paid-entry contests, though opting in to the Perfect 36 is itself free.
