What a promo code is

A promo code is a short word you enter when you create an account with an operator, and it unlocks that operator's welcome offers. Sportsbooks, daily fantasy apps and contest platforms all use them, partly to give new customers something for signing up and partly to track where they came from: a code read out in a podcast ad or written in a creator's caption tells the operator which channel brought the player in. Most codes must be entered at sign-up and cannot be added to an account afterwards.

An example

Someone hears a code during a broadcast, downloads the app at halftime, and types the code into the promo field on the sign-up screen. The account is created with the welcome offer attached. A friend who signs up the next day without entering it gets the standard account, and in most apps there is no way to attach the code later, which is why the code is worth checking before the first screen is finished.

In Speed Survivor

Speed Survivor's code is SPEED, entered once when you sign up. It unlocks three things. The first is a $100 first-deposit match: $10 in contest credit instantly on your first deposit, then a 100% match up to $100, released at $1 for every $10 you spend in entry fees. The second is referral credit, up to $500 a season, released when a player you bring in places their first paid entry of $10 or more, subject to a seasonal cap. The third is the free opt-in to the Perfect 36.

Both credits are contest credit: they enter contests, cannot be withdrawn, and expire at the end of the 2026 NFL regular season. There is no other Speed Survivor code to hunt for; SPEED is the code.
