What micro-betting is

Micro-betting is the narrowest form of live betting: wagers on what happens on the very next play, possession or drive. Will the next play be a run or a pass? Will this drive end in a touchdown, a field goal or a punt? Will the next pass be complete? Each market opens for a few seconds between snaps and settles as soon as the play is over.

It depends on fast official data and automated pricing, since a book has to price and settle hundreds of tiny markets during one game. It works like a stream of short prop bets, each priced separately, each settled within minutes, with the book on the other side of every one of them.

An example

It is second and eight at midfield. The book offers "Next play: pass" at -160 and "Next play: run" at +130. A bettor who thinks the offense will keep it on the ground takes run for $10 to win $13. The quarterback drops back and throws a short completion. The wager is settled a few seconds later as a loss, and the next market opens before the following snap.

How Speed Survivor is different

A Speed Survivor live question is also about what happens next in the game, and that is why people compare the two. The structure is different. Instead of an endless stream of priced markets, a contest has twelve questions, one about every five minutes of game clock, and every entrant answers the same one under the same timer.
